India has a vast and diverse culture, which is very much ideal for any conspiracy theory to take its shape. There are several tales of societies that are manipulating the global events. The Indian narrative of these conspiracy theories is rich with intrigue and speculations.

This article is a small effort to delve into the labyrinth of conspiracy theories that have been spread across India since ages. Lets weave the thread of the these tales together to form the narratives and the social implication they entail.

As we start this exploration we invite our readers to join us in revealing these theories and questions that rise in their minds after going through these theories. So our first Conspiracy theory is:-

Is India still a colony of the United Kingdom?

One of the famous conspiracy theories that we have came across since the Independence of India that India is still a British Colony. The idea behind this thought is that India is still a part of Commonwealth Nations and Commonwealth Nations is the organization of those countries that have earlier been the colony of the United Nation and is ruled by the monarch of U.K., the pension that is being given to the ruler of the United Kingdom and the ruler of the United Kingdom can freely travel to the Commonwealth Nations without the need of the Visas.

But are these facts enough to believe that India is still a colony of United Kingdom? No.

The clarifications provided by the people in this regard are that India is voluntarily the member of Commonwealth organization like it is a part of United Nations.

Being a part of Commonwealth Nation is like being a part of any other international organization like ASEAN, SAARC, etc., but the only difference remains is that the Head of commonwealth is not changed like the other organizations.

Did Shivkar Bapuji Talpade invent airplanes 8 years earlier the Wright Brothers?

Shivkar Talpade was a scientist who is said to have built the airplane 8 years earlier than the Wright brothers’ duo. He was allegedly backed by the Maharaja of Baroda. The tale dates back to the late 1890s, when Talpade flown an unmanned aircraft named Marutsakha over Bombay’s Chowpatty Beach but there are no accounts of successful flight, and no reliable source documents it.

Shivkar Talpade’s aircraft is said to reach a height of 1500 ft. before it came crashing down. The machine that he invented used four mercury cylinders that worked as the engine. One of the theories is that Talpade’s invention was not taken into limelight because of the British rule in India and it made continuous pressure on Maharaja of Baroda to stop funding him. Eventually the project came to a halt.

Did Gandhi ji wanted Bhagat Singh to Die?

One of the biggest names in the freedom struggle of India was Bhagat Singh. Many Indians consider him to be a martyr, we have read his name and about his life in our history books. However certain theories believe that Gandhi ji could have saved Bhagat Singh. The reason stated for him not intervening or saving Bhagat Singh are that he didn’t liked the ways and methods that Bhagat Singh used for the freedom struggle. Gandhi ji always chose the path of Non-violence but Bhagat Singh believed that nothing could be achieved with non-violence. So Mahatma Gandhi didn’t approve of his ways.

The second theory suggests that Mahatma Gandhi started seeing Bhagat as a threat for him in becoming the leader of freedom struggle, so he was intentionally involved in his arrest and then execution.

Subhash Chandra Bose’s Death

This is a widely known and discussed topic in India since the independence or even before it. It is said that Neta ji Subhash Chandra Bose died in an airplane crash, but by the conspiracy theorists believed that he wasn’t killed in the crash because as they say on the day the he died, there wasn’t any crash.

The most common belief among the people is that he wasn’t dead in the plane crash and lived an anonymous life in the small district of Faizabaad in the state of Uttar Pradesh as “Gumnami Baba”, and ultimately died in 1965.

There are various committees that have also been formed in this regard but none of them could justify this belief and thus as of today on the official documents of Indian Government, it is stated that Subhash Chandra Bose died in a Plane Crash.

The Nine Unknown Men

As the name suggests that it is the society of nine men identity of who is unknown to the world. The society was formed by Emperor Ashoka in around 273 BC to keep secret of 9 most significant Subjects. They were the most knowledgeable people of those subjects. The subjects included cosmology, alchemy, psychological warfare or propaganda, physiology, gravity, light, microbiology, and sociology.

The Identity of these men was to remain secret. In case any of the nine men died or became ill or by any chance became incapable to carry his responsibility, the other capable man was replaced with him. The first reference of this society is found in a book named The Nine Unknown Men by an English author Talbot Mundy in 1923. It is strongly believed that this society still continues to be in existence and carrying their responsibilities with utmost honesty and truthfulness.

In the end we leave on to our readers to judge and make their minds that if they believe in these theories or not or what are the weak points of these theories that stops people in believing these theories, and if you do believe in these theories,  what are the points that make you believe in these stories.
